In the News

Welcome to the Awesome SA website! We have made it bright and interactive so that the voice of South Africans, positively influencing the future can be heard everywhere.

Thank you to all our fellow Awesome South Africans for the most amazing experience of the 2010 World Cup.  And now it’s all over – the expectation of the world and the anticipation of each and every South African. South Africa made headlines once again and it wasn’t only about the soccer – it was also amazement; it was praise; it was congratulations and it was celebrations. This World Cup reinforced the saying: We’ve done it before we can do it again. We may take the rollercoaster route and leave things to the 11th hour but wow ...when we get there, we sure make a statement.

From one proud South African to another, thank you for making this all possible.

So read the articles we’ve collected over the years, have a look at what our book has to offer and post a guest comment before you leave....and don’t forget to pass on the magic.

Waka waka eh eh. Feel it. It is here. The time has come but not ended.  It is just the beginning.

An Open Letter to Bafana Bafana

A person from Cape Town who calls himself MsPr1nt has written a moving letter to the South African National football Team. His Open Letter of Thanks  to Bafana Bafana is highlighted on Sport 24. Bafana's sublime performance had mspr1nt choking back tears of joy. Bafana you are still our heroes! Thank you for uniting the nation again. Thanks for giving Mzansi back the Ayoba-ness! You went out fighting and playing your hearts out – and that is all we really wanted!

He says: "So thank you, Bafana – thank you for being so special and digging yourself a place inside of my heart to give me that hope I lost, the hope that made me forget that we can say ja, no, just now – and actually know what it means. You have reminded me that we have come a pretty long way since 1994 and while we still have a long, long way to go – we need to all just suck it up and do it. You’ve given me hope that, together, we can make a difference. Through the ayobaness of it all and through the heartbreak and downfalls – we have a chance to show the world that despite being a small country, we’re actually pretty okay and we have such a bright future ahead of us."
